Jane Offutt, PhD, Reading Comprehension Specialist

- - Jane Offutt developed “Accomplish Reading” as part of her Ph.D. degree in Learning and Instruction at The University of Pittsburgh. At Pitt, she also earned her reading specialist certificate. However, she began her academic career earning a B.A in English at Allegheny College (https://allegheny.edu)
  - After earned a M.A.T. in Secondary Education at Pitt (https://www.pitt.edu), Afterward, she taught in a Pittsburgh school district for more than 25 years. She worked as a Title 1 – Chapter 1 Reading Specialist and as a HS English teacher.
  - “Accomplish Reading” was awarded a patent because Jane’s unique design was an improvement over previous reading comprehension software designs. It has been deemed one of the best apps for teaching reading comprehension. It is an effective tool in accelerating students’ reading progress and in preparing students for state assessment tests.
